Flanked by the Great Indian Himalayas, the Karakoram and the Ladakh and the Zanskar ranges, Ladakh is a high-altitude desert and one of the three geo-cultural regions of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Leh is the principal town of Ladakh, also known as the 'land of high passes' having the only airport of the region. Leh is a small town and make finding your way round very easy. The town has a main street with the Leh Palace rising up right at the end of it. Centuries ago Leh was an important halt on the old caravan silk route from China. Today, besides a military base, Leh is one of the most popular tourist destinations of India. During the tourist season of June - September, Leh becomes a melting pot of cultures and nationalities and everything in the town turns tourist-centric. Leh makes a gateway to high-altitude lakes of Ladakh, the valley of Nubra and Lower Indus valley and other surrounding areas. Apart from these, the town of Leh makes an ideal base for adventure sports of trekking and river rafting.

Depart Manali early in the morning our first halt is Marhi A barren landscape offering extensive views of the valley and the mountains. We proceed to Rohtang Pass 3790 M is most popular with visitors, being one of the highest road point and gateway to LAHAUL and SPITI valleys. Pass remains closed during winter due to heavy snow from November end to May end. Visitors can drive upto MARHI below ROHTANG with similar high altitude topography, forest of Birch, Fir and Spurce. Once we cross the Rohtang Pass border we are in the Barren Himalayas with the landscape completely changing Khoksar is the first village. We drive for another 1 hrs and reach a beautiful town of keylong at 3340 mtrs with the goshal peaks covering the slyline. We halt the night at keylong for bettr acclimatization.
After breakfast we start our journey towards sarchu. And cross Jispa.This beautiful spot is 22 kms away from Keylong and 4 kms ahead of Ghemur. The village is situated at the junction of two nullahs with the main river Bhaga. Jispa has a very large dry river-bed, a rarity in Lahaul. The mountaineering Institute of Manali has a sub centre here for adventure tourism. We cross suraj taal and the baralacha pass at 5000 mtrs before reaching sarchu. Sarchu is the last inhabited point in Himachal Pradesh on the Manali-Leh route- which is regarded as one of the highest highways in the world. Arrive in Sarchu and check into your Camp. Overnight stay at the Camp.
After breakfast drive to Pang. Pang is the tiny migrated markets in Leh-Manali road. The person who run the shops these are Ladakhi. They are shifted there for few months as mid June till Sep. Just cross the Pang and then drive further up. After the up hill drive we find the plain area around 60 km till base of Tanglangla (5400m). Reach Tsomoriri and check in at your fixed camp. Visit the lake side the small collection of huts. Tsomoriri is situated at an altitude of 4573m from south east from Leh. It is like a pearl shape and contains large mineral deposits. The circumference of the lake is around 36 km. Here you must register and show your permit. Overnight stay at the camp.
In the morning visit Korzok village and visit around the lake. Later drive to Mahe village. The village is famous for the scene of shooting fountain and white clouds hanging upon. Drive to Puga valley, which is famous for Butan gas. We also cross chumathang which is famous for its natural hot springs and reach leh.
After breakfast, we drive to visit Hemis Monastery situated 45km west of Leh; Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you are driven back taking the same route to visit Thiksey Monastery, located on a hill-lock with formidable views of the Indus valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya and is also known for its (Dukhang) assembly hall which houses hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk. After that we continue to drive through series of chortens to visit Shey Palace the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. 3 Idiots School Campus Sindhu Darshan visit. Overnight stay at the hotel.
It is the highest land locked lake (145 Kms One way) After early Breakfast leave for Pangong Lake (14,500 ft), through Changla Pass 17,350 ft., itis the third highest motorable road in the world. Arrive Pangong Lake it is the highest saltwater Lake in the World, shared by two countries India & China. Enjoy the beauty of the lakeon the Banks of Pangong Lake while appreciating the changing Colors and fascinating high altitude of the Lake.Overnight stay at the resort.
Drive 120 Kms4/5hrs After Breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft) Arrive at Hundur by Afternoon. Rest of the day, Post lunch free to explore.Deskit, Hunder Villages and camel Safari in Sand Dunes between Deskit and Hunder Village.Overnight stay at the camp.
After Breakfast visit Deskit Monastery and drive to Turtuk village which is around 80 km. Turtuk is the last Indian village before the LOC and was recaptured by India in 1971 after it was taken over by Pakistan. Reach turtuk by afternoon. Evening free time at Leisure to explore turtuk village. Overnight stay at camp.
Today we drive back to leh via same route to leh which takes around 7-8 hours. Overnight stay at hotel.
